THE TECHNOLOGY THAT CAME TO REDUCE ROAD ACCIDENTS
Modern cars are increasingly being equipped with driver assistance systems, which significantly increase active safety and represent the first steps towards fully autonomous driving. Included under the ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems) acronym, these systems goes from autonomous emergency braking with pedestrian detection, blind spot detection or fatigue detection system to involuntary lane change alert, active lane driving, cross rear traffic alert or traffic signal recognition. In the cargo transport sector where trucks are the main type of vehicle, this technology had not been used until few years ago.

LAP TECHNOLOGIES and its ally STREAMAX have brought this new technology to Colombia in order to support the operation of the sector and join the efforts of all actors in the transportation industry to reduce road accidents that impact statistics and productivity of our country. In alliance with TDM Transport, one of the most recognized cargo companies on the market, LAP TECHNOLOGIES successfully implemented this system, which alerts the driver directly about the possible accident risks to which they are constantly exposed in the Colombian roads.

In the image it can be seen how artificial intelligence algorithms interpret the video in real time, automatically detecting all the elements of the road and possible events that generate risk of accident and although our road infrastructure does not have the best signaling standards, the Algorithms have learned more and more and are now much more accurate and adapted to our local environment; which allows greater reliability in each alert generated. This system, unlike other existing ones in the market, has a remote connection with the servers and sends a notification of the events in real time and a 10-second video clip with evidence of what happened, allowing subsequent analysis and taking preventive support actions to the driver.

For TDM Transport the implementation of this technology has been a before and after, which has not only allowed to improve and transform the culture of its drivers, but also to reduce to ZERO the accidents of vehicles that currently have this technology. Just as Transport TDM has committed itself to the ZERO road accident program and has made significant progress, we invite all companies in the sector to use this technology, to convert our roads into safe places, reduce deaths on the roads and increase its profitability eliminating losses arising from accidents, trafic tickets, compensation and all the implications generated by road accidents. Technology can support your productivity and the ZERO road accident program!
